Enrollment in Medicare
Navigating Medicare doesn’t have to be confusing. I’m here to make the process simple, seamless, and stress-free. As your Mutual of Omaha Advisor in Denver, I’ll help you understand your options and guide you toward the right plan for your lifestyle, health needs, and budget.
Automatic Enrollment
You’ll automatically be enrolled in Medicare Part A and Part B if:
-
You are already receiving Social Security or Railroad Retirement Board benefits.
-
Your coverage will begin the first day of the month you turn 65 (or the month prior if born on the 1st).
Manual Enrollment
If you are not drawing Social Security or RRB benefits:
-
You must manually enroll in Medicare Part A and B.
-
Start the process 3 months before your 65th birthday to avoid delays.
Special Cases
-
Under 65 & Disabled: Automatically enrolled after 24 months of receiving Social Security Disability benefits.
-
ALS: Automatically enrolled the same month your SSDI benefits begin.
-
ESRD (End-Stage Renal Disease): Must enroll manually through Social Security. Coverage typically begins on the 4th month of dialysis.
